Private Instruction, Special Events, & Youth Programming

Interested in private lessons? Hosting a special event? Planning a youth program? Mezclando Milwaukee offers a variety of services at reasonable prices for individuals, groups, and schools.

Private Instruction

Betsy and Matt are available for private lessons, to teach in your home or in the studio. Our base rate is $60/hour but may vary based on travel time. Though we generally teach together, an additional $15 guarantees we will both be there.

Special Events

Mezclando Milwaukee offers a variety of services for your next special event. Having a Latin-themed event? Mezclando MIlwaukee has taught groups over 200 a variety of basic Latin dances. Need a Latin band or DJ? Mezclando Milwaukee knows most band leaders and Latin DJs in the area and can provide reccomendations. Want to provide a short performance for your guests? Mezclando Milwaukee’s Rueda de Casino group has participated in gala events and stage shows. Mezclando Milwaukee is also willing and able to cooridinate with other area dancers to provide up to a half-hour of entertainment. Rates will vary based on client needs.

Youth Programming

Betsy and Matt have experience teaching children of many ages in many environments, from K5 and elementary school through middle and high school, both in-class and after school, in English and in Spanish. Betsy has also conducted workshops within a correctional facility for girls.

Youth programming generally emphasizes fundamentals of beat, rhythm, timing, partnership, and role-play, and often includes a cultural component relating to the history of the dance. Partner dancing is a great way for youth to explore notions of mutual respect, empathy, and non-verbal communication in very tangible, readily understood terms. We generally do individual dancing with elementary youth, and generally do partner work with middle-schoolers and older.
